This kitchen remodel was motivated by a busy family who needed a layout that better suited their lifestyle. A bigger island, more cabinet space, new flooring, a better pantry and most importantly, some mudroom storage for shoes, backpacks and soccer bags were all on the wish list! To find this space, we snagged a few feet from the adjacent formal dining room, which created a much better traffic aisle from the garage and the perfect drop zone for gear. The island grew large enough to seat this family of five for casual dinner.
In addition, the previously cramped breakfast nook was replaced with a great storage bench and some bar seating/drink rail, to open the up the space even more. What a dramatic transformation!
