Church Conversion

This project was the conversion of the Christian Science Society church building into a single family residence, complete with a unique loft that we tucked underneath the church's unusual roof line.
The main floor of the church building had a small half bathroom and two small offices, with a lobby and a large gathering room. The lower level had another small bathroom, two utility rooms, and a second gathering room.
Now, the main floor has two bedrooms, one full bath, and an open kitchen, living and dining room. The highlight of this main floor is the open staircases, vaulted ceilings, wall of windows and views to the incredible loft. The loft creates an office for the home, with built in bookcases and eye-catching windows. The basement now has a full bedroom and bathroom, utility room and a cozy family space.
The clients modern style is evident throughout, with light, white and bright being the dominant feel throughout the space. A subtle gray paint on the main floor and loft ceilings provides some warmth and contrast, and their furnishings perfectly complement the aesthetics of the structure.
