Our owners, Sean and Carol, both Virginia Tech alums, moved back to the area from Northern Virginia in 2004 to enjoy the great quality of life that the Blacksburg area has to offer. In 2010, they decided that Sean would leave a travel intensive corporate position to pursue their own community-based business and be able to be closer to home for their growing boys. The solution was to create their own custom home and remodeling business, and Slate Creek Builders was born. It has been a terrific and challenging journey. The company's growth has come from hard work, determination, a growing resume of successful projects, and some incredible clients; SCB would not be where they are today today if it weren’t for the clients that have trusted Sean and SCB with their homes and budgets and allowed SCB to develop their dreams into realities.

SEAN BELIVEAU

OWNER/BUILDER
Sean is a graduate of the Charles E. Via Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Virginia Tech and holds a Virginia Class A Contractor’s License. As the owner of SCB, he is extremely satisfied providing high quality custom design and construction services to his community in Blacksburg, VA and surrounding areas.
CAROL BELIVEAU

OWNER
Carol holds Bachelor’s degrees from both the School of Visual Art’s Art History program and the highly regarded School of Architecture and Design’s Interior Design program at Virginia Tech. She will often work with our clients after the construction is done to make the final design selections and tie the entire project together.
CASSIDY JONES

SALES AND DESIGN MANAGER
Cassidy joined SCB in 2015 with 10+ years of experience in residential design. She is a graduate of the College of William and Mary and Alpha College of Real Estate. She moved to Blacksburg in 2006 to pursue her Master's in Housing Studies at Virginia Tech, with an emphasis on Kitchen and Bath Design. At SCB, Cassidy does most of the drafting and design work for our remodeling projects and loves to find unique solutions to improve how people live.
DOUG LING

PROJECT DEVELOPER
Doug has spent the last 10 years working in different aspects of the construction industry from Energy Efficiency, to HVAC, to Insulation. During that time, he has done Home Energy Audits, Operations Management, Estimating, Project Management, and Sales. At SCB, Doug helps lead clients through our design and estimating process, getting them ready for the construction process.
KHRIS BEAGLEY

PROJECT MANAGER
Khris is a graduate of the Department of Wood Science & Forest Products with a discipline in Residential Wood Structures from Virginia Tech. After graduating from Virginia Tech, he worked for a national cabinet manufacturer in the Maryland and Central Virginia areas for 5 years before taking a Project Manager role with a reclaimed hardwood flooring and custom steel windows and doors manufacturer.
