• Payment Schedule

The first project invoice is due at the time of project start. This amount will vary depending on project type and construction schedule, but can also be expected to be in the 10-25% range of the total project cost.

Progress payments are scheduled in advance to correspond to the construction schedule, however invoice dates and amounts will change based on the actual construction schedule or any changes in scope of work or selections that impact allowance values remaining at the time of contract signing. You will be kept informed of invoice dates and all pertinent project financials through our project management system.

  • Project Communication

Daily communication is managed through our project management system, which keeps you and all of us at SCB informed as to what is going on and able to assist if needed.

Our project manager will keep you up to date with next steps on the project and will update our production schedule as needed for your reference.

Great communication is one of our core values, and you’ll have the attention of our entire team through different phases of the project, but will always have your project manager during construction to keep you informed.

  • Demo and Sitework

The start of construction will begin with demo and/or sitework, depending on the scope of the project. We’ll be responsible for site safety and will do our best to ensure a tidy jobsite, protected from other areas of the property.

The set up for demo and sitework depend on whether your project is a new construction, remodel of existing space or an addition, but we will communicate with you before we start on how the process will unfold. That first day of action on the jobsite is exciting for all of us!

  • Construction

We love the Remodeling Roller Coaster, because it helps convey the many ups and downs that we all experience during the construction process. The hard middle of the process feels like it will last forever, but the day the final finish materials start to get installed, the joy and excitement return. We’ll be with you throughout all the ups and downs and will ensure that you finish the project with the same enthusiasm that you started with!

  • Substantial Completion

Final Payment is due at ‘substantial completion’ of the project, which signifies the transition in our process from ‘in production’ to ‘under warranty’. At this time you go back to your normal life, with access to your remodeled areas that are now ready for use, safe and clean and free from daily construction activities.

  • Punch Work

If pertinent, the SCB project manager will present a list of any open or ‘punch work’ warranty items that are known at the time of substantial completion. A comprehensive review of this list and explanation of the planned resolution to each item will be reviewed with you at this time.
